Remote Garden Design

​This was a garden that was designed as a result of a remote design request.

It was slightly complicated due to the uneven lawn sloping from right to left and back to front but I was provided with accurate measurements and elevation drawings from the client. The brief was to come up with a design solution that levelled off the lawns in a way that the client could implement themselves. Added complications were the sunken trampoline at the top end of the garden and two existing trees that the client wanted to retain.

Vertical sleepers were used to create curved retainers around the lawn and raised bed on the right side. A lower level path wound its way around the first lawn to provide access to the summerhouse and trampoline.

The hard landscaping was a combination of complimentary materials; dark grey composite deck, grey limestone paving and mixed tone gravel. Architectural planting with perennial colour created the final look.

By using the existing contours of the garden I was able to create an exciting journey through the garden to different seating areas. From each, the garden can be enjoyed and viewed at different angles throughout the day.
